Ministers Welcome
We are a people united around the same purpose: to know and love God, and to know and love one another. This website helps you to know more about our fellowship, our faith and our vision. The latter has been formulated as follow: being in the presence of Jesus and bringing his presence to others. Thus, we seek to serve the community through various activities following Christ’s model. I invite you to join us in one or all of our activities: be they Sunday services, weekly study and fellowship, coffee morning, social activities and many entertainments. We welcome the company of everyone who longs to follow Jesus, seeking a personal relationship with God and companionship. Don’t be shy; we will strive to help everyone through these occasions to become a good disciple.
We are a union of Methodist and United Reformed Church members. We are ecumenical and committed to create awareness: sharing and responding to local, national and global concerns. Our congregation is an open and welcoming fellowship, which is mainly made up of people who live in the area. Hence, it seeks to provide a kind, Christ-like presence in Wickford. The focus of our church life is to worship, know God better and to bring others into God’s presence. Thus, we long to grind all our activities in our prime relationship with God, but we are inclusive. We strive to express the love of God among ourselves and extend it towards the community around, through social engagements and the welcome we extend to those who come to us.
Although worship is the starting point of all we put into perspective; the worship leads to other practices, which include discerning the means of growth, sustainable fellowship and concern of our neighbours. Therefore, we crave to know and learn from others we mingle with through various venues and activities, festive like the Wickford Carnival. That is why we invite you also to join us whenever you can; you will be welcome among us whether you live locally or are on the journey. We are not perfectionists; we too are forgiven sinners. Likewise, we do not expect anybody else to be perfect, but we have enjoyed the change. So, hope you will too, and become fellows on the journey. We would value your company; we gladly find our shared life enriched day by day by every new friend. It will be also our delight to see you very soon.

Revd Moses Agyam
After undergraduate studies at the London School of Theology, Moses spent five years in the Open Learning Department as a tutor in New Testament studies, alongside postgraduate studies at LST. Moses trained at the Queen’s Foundation for Ecumenical Theological Education, Birmingham. He was then stationed in Nottingham North-East for five years, followed by a teaching appointment at Cliff College, Derbyshire. He has served in various roles including probationers’ secretary for Nottingham and Derby Methodist District, oversight of circuit Local Preachers (for Nottingham North-East and Mid-Derbyshire Methodist circuits). Moses is involved with facilitating Exploring Ordained Ministry in the Methodist Church. He also currently serves on the Faith and Order Committee in the Methodist Church.
He is married to Diana and enjoys family time with his three young children. He loves football (and supports Arsenal on good days and in bad times!), jogging and reading.
Moses is keen on inspiring others to become better Christians by bridging faith and learning. And ultimately not only to believe the gospel but to become the good news in concrete and practical ways.
Moses has pastoral charge of Church URC and Methodist, Wickford, and the Billericay Methodist Church.
